Kayla Sims

Since completing her Bachelor of Music Performance at Monash University, Kayla has worked as a classroom music teacher, Choir Director and Music Director and is currently the Head of Choral and Classroom Music at Huntingtower School in Mount Waverly. Her most recent operatic experiences include Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (2024; CPO), Mimi in La Boheme (2023; Cordelia’s Potted Opera’s), Phyliss in Iolanthe (2023; Savoy Opera Company), Michaela in Carmen (2022; Cordelia’s Potted Opera’s), Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte (2022; Cordelia’s Potted Opera’s) and Diana in Orpheus in the Underworld (2022; Savoy Opera Company) and she is currently in rehearsals playing Josephine in HMS Pinafore and Angelina in Trial by Jury with Savoy Opera Company. She performs regularly as a classical vocalist and enjoys arranging music, conducting vocal ensembles for charity events and teaching music through play to her two preschool children.
