Kate Bright
Since graduating with a Graduate Diploma of Opera from the Victorian College of the Arts, mezzo-soprano Kate Bright has emerged as one Melbourne’s most sought-after performers. She has distinguished herself in a variety of genres, including art song, operetta and opera, as well as participating in performances of new works. Following student performances in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen and Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, Kate became a regular in the Opera Australia chorus, touring Japan with them in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. Kate was subsequently invited to perform the role of Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Rome Festival Opera. She also performed the role of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the Wiesbaden Maifestspiele.
