Henry Shaw

Henry Shaw is a Melbourne based writer/director and singer. As a singer he has performed in "Doctor Miracle" (GO, 2017), "Cavelleria Rusticana" (GSOV, 2015), "Urinetown" (Ummta, 2016), Jesus Christ Superstar (CLOC, 2016) and many more. Directing credits include Amadeus, Drowsy Chaperone, Musical of Musicals: The Musical, Putnam County Spelling Bee, Mozart & Salieri, Prima la Musica, Der Schauspieldirektor, From Jewish Folk Poetry and several stagings of contemporary compositions. His directing often leads him to write new translations and librettos for operas, in 2016 he wrote and directed 3 pieces with Sydney based company Bare Bones Opera, with plans to do more productions with the company in the second half of 2018. In 2017, Henry worked as an Intern Director at Gertrude Opera and learned from artists such as Jeremy Stanford and Brian Castles-Onion.
